Arsenal injury news as Mikel Arteta sweats over the fitness of a number of his players ahead of the return of Premier League action

A week today and Arsenal will be facing one of, if not the, biggest game of their 2023/24 season. The Gunners travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City next week in a potential Premier League defining clash

Arsenal remain locked into their Premier League title charge and Champions League run but the planning for the summer has already been completed according to the sporting director Edu Gaspar.

“Well, I understand what the fans are asking for but we already have our targets,” the Brazilian said. “We have planned a lot ahead and I will be worried if we don’t score a lot of goals and if we’re not creating chances, which is the opposite because we create a lot and score a lot of goals.

“The plan is to try to get better every year and I think we are in a good moment. Let’s see if we can keep improving.”

 

After a record spend in 2023, expectations are high but the club do need to continue to comply with the FFP rules and regulations sustainability. There is certainly scope to improve financial freedom with a glut of potential exits however giving Edu even more work to do with soon-to-be Managing Director Richard Garlick.
