Latest Arsenal news and gossip as Kyle Walker has sent a message ahead of the Premier League clash between Man City and the Gunners after suffering a possible injury during England vs Brazil
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has provided an update on the injury he suffered with England ahead of his club’s clash against Arsenal.
Saturday night saw Walker wear the captain’s armband as England faced Brazil in a friendly at Wembley Stadium. The Three Lions lost 1-0 with substitute Endrick scoring the winner in the second half, with the 17-year-old set to join Real Madrid this summer.
Just 20 minutes into the contest, Walker was forced to be substituted with a potential injury. The Man City right-back was replaced by Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa and was spotted walking down the tunnel towards the dressing room after being substituted.
England boss Gareth Southgate stated after the game that the severity of the injury to Walker was not known at the time. It appeared that the right-back may have suffered a hamstring injury, but Southgate did say that Walker would be assessed by the medical team over the coming days.
The potential injury to Walker comes ahead of Arsenal clash against Man City next weekend. The Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to the Etihad Stadium next Sunday to face Pep Guardiola’s side.
