Bologna attacker Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move away from the Italian club, and Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be interested in signing him.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport via Football Italia, the striker will be available for a fee of roughly €75 million this summer, and it remains to be seen whether the two English clubs are willing to pay up.
Zirkzee has been in excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists across all competitions.
Arsenal and Manchester United are in urgent need of a striker such as Joshua Zirkzee.
The 22-year-old Dutchman is undeniably a talented player with a bright future, but Arsenal will not want to pay exorbitant fees. It remains to be seen whether the Italian team is willing to sell him for a more acceptable amount.
Arsenal may benefit from having a talented young attacking player like him leading the line. Gabriel Jesus has been unable to consistently produce goals, while Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move away from the club. Signing another striker should be Arsenal’s main objective this summer, but the stated asking price may be an issue.
Manchester United requires another attacker to share the goalscoring burden with summer addition Rasmus Hojlund.
Zirkzee could prove to be a long-term investment for both sides, justifying the cost in future seasons. He has the capacity to adjust to English and establish himself as a player for both English clubs. It will be interesting to see how the issue progresses over the coming months.
AC Milan and Bayern Munich have both expressed interest in the youngster, although neither is expected to pay €75 million for him.
